The secret is illuminated by the morning sun

I usually use mainly gouache brushes and oil brushes, but this illustration was painted with Photoshop default brushes (basic round brushes).

I wondered if I could use the basic brushes that everyone can use and still create an illustration that felt personal to me.

At first I was going to paint only this character on a plain background, but a scene of this character walking home from school came to mind, and I decided to add the background as well.

Here is a quick sketch of a landscape I had in my mind. When I painted this, I explored the use of the round brush at the same time.

Various characters were born, and the story in this painting progressed on its own.

The ghostly character in the center looked as if he wanted to go to school with everyone, so I decided to change this scene to a morning scene on the way to school instead of the way home in the evening.
It is a morning when winter is approaching and it is getting cold.

In the latter half of the process, I kept working on the details. Rather than making illustrations, I tried to depict the scenery in my mind as if I were taking a photograph.

I painted the plants and trees in a pointillist style, but it took me longer than I expected.
